How To Scale Up a Vintage Business

Nastyjump-popupI have about a hundred different weekend hobbies. One of my pet projects is selling vintage children's books online. Right now, my inventory is low, so I'm uploading a bunch of new stuff and hitting some estate sales tomorrow.

I really want to be this woman, who figured out how to make a real business out of selling vintage dresses. I also want a tattoo.

  1. Wasn’t that an awesome success story? I read this yesterday and thought this could’ve been my second daughter. Hoping she finds some hole that isn’t being filled and is equally successful.
I’ve already got the tattoo, acquired 21 years ago.

  2. You should definitely get a tattoo. I’m in the process of getting a(nother) tattoo and it is so satisfying.

  3. I think some tattoos are beautiful. But then, I think about whether there’s anything I’d permanently want on me, and I always decide not. I do like temporary tattoos, though (and henna). You should get a dramatic henna tattoo on your back, buy a beautiful backless dress, do your hair up and curly and have Steve take you somewhere appropriate for the way you look.

  4. My son likes temporary tattoos. They can last a week if you have the bathing habits of a six-year-old boy. Plus, you can still get buried in a Jewish cemetery.

  5. Tattoos really depend on the person! Like Chris “The Birdman” Andersen (Miami Heat NBA) looks dope with his tattoos but other people look stupid.
