The white norming framing of this article (literally — the last few graphs norm death rates to the white death rate) was off putting to me. What was the intent of the framing other than clickbait?
It was good to see the falling death rates all in one graph over time normalized for age, though.

…or, alternately, because vulnerable black people already got COVID and died.

Because of vaccines is not conclusive— but Asian people don’t have a lower death rate because they are already dead.
These data are also age adjusted so age distribution in the populations shouldn’t be the difference.
