Fall weekends in the Northeast mean brunch, hikes, apple picking, and pumpkin spice microbrews. Okay, not the pumpkin beer, but everything else. Pictures from last weekend.
Mental health resources for teens in this country are TERRIBLE. Great interactive article from the New York Times.
School boards are usually just a rubber stamp. More performative than effective, on a good day. We won’t talk about the bad days.
Northeastern law school accidentally admitted thousands of students, and then had to write them another email informing them that the previous email was not accurate.
Kanye is super dangerous. He’s got that celebrity magic going on, which is never taken seriously enough by the press, and he’s completely insane.
Cooking: Creamy Cauliflower soup (a little bland, definitely needed herbs from the garden)
Shopping: Nothing. I’m in a huge purge mode. Tossing out clothes and concentrating on dropping ten pounds. And then we will rebuild.
Health: Drink cold water during the day, because your body has to use up energy to get it to room temperature, which speeds up your metabolism. Should you listen to me? No, I have no clue what I”m talking about, but it sounds good.

No, we should not listen to you. But, if one likes more info, here’s a calc on how much more energy (9 Calories, which is more than I would have guessed without crunching the numbers) one burns drinking a pint of water at 0 degrees celsius (a liquid) instead of 20 C (room temperature): https://datagenetics.com/blog/february32014/index.html
But, it’s fine to drink cold water if you like it. I was ranting the other day at the grocery store (where there was a long line) because there were nutty food supplements (some with nuts, but others with mushrooms and magnesium) in the aisle. I much prefer the chocolates that used to take that space. The magnesium gummies were $20. And, not a fan of drinking things that don’t taste good for health, unless they are prescribed.
We should also not listen to Kanye on his anti-black or anti-semetic comments.
BTW, it was Northeastern, as in the link, not Northwestern.
got it. thanks
A few months back I got a weird vague email from someone asking if I was interested in writing for a political candidate. After a little quick googling, I figured out it was for the candidate who made a surprise announcement today.
