There he goes! Catch him, catch him! Someone get the cat!
Right in the middle of Joe Biden’s State of the Union speech, Steve opened the door to our wood-burning stove to see what was banging inside. After peering in and poking up into the chimney, a starling flew out. For a few minutes, a bird flew around the house, as we waved our arms and yelled, trying to steer it towards the backdoor.
Chasing the bird was the most exciting part of the Joe Biden’s speech. We’re supposed to say that Joe was “fiery” and gave a “barn burner speech,” because we’ve got to do whatever it takes to keep Trump out of the White House. It wasn’t. While Biden’s speech was adequate and predictable on the surface, there is an interesting backstory about education and disability policy buried in the speech. Let’s unravel it.

“We’re supposed to say that Joe was “fiery” and gave a “barn burner speech,” because we’ve got to do whatever it takes to keep Trump out of the White House. It wasn’t. While Biden’s speech was adequate and predictable on the surface”
Crap. His speech was dreadful. He was stumbling over his words. I feel like the child in Emperor’s New Clothes who says “He is naked”. The viewers know this, and will not be convinced by the chattering class saying ‘fiery’ and ‘feisty’. As the great Fritz Mondale said, ‘Who do you believe – him or your own eyes?’.

He does have a stutter, you know.

So does Ian. It really does help him to know that Biden stutters, too.
I’m on vacation in Mexico right now, so I can’t post properly. I hear that Lawyers, Guns, and Money posted a podcast that I did last week. Some people in the comments said I was a Republican — lol — so I stopped reading the comments. You guys can check it out

In Illinois, high dose tutoring has been in place for a year and has had very good results.

Lawyers, Guns, and Money has some good posts. But the commenters seem to be an exceptionally angry group, and do not do the progressive cause much good. A lot of their posts are ad hominem; they really pile on. Criticizing the public schools, for anything, will get you trashed. Also a few other issues, like gender and COVID.
