SL 790

So, I’m playing around with my diet lately. I’m eating a ton of fruits and veggies, so my hair and nails are looking fabulous. I cut out red meat, wine, bread, and cheese during weekdays, so I’m slightly hating life right now. I’ve been eating oatmeal every morning. While it does get things moving, heh, I feel like I’ve a brick in my stomach for half the day. So, I’m thinking about switching to a morning smoothie.

Here’s Reese Witherspoon’s smoothie recipe.

We are fans of the compact Cuisinart juicer with lots of little cups. The day before your weekly big supermarket trip, you can make a juice out of the end of the week’s fruits and vegetables.

I have not yet lost one stupid pound with six weeks of food logging and daily exercise. But I am still hopeful.

Amazon purchase of the week — Cheap Sundresses: here, here, here, here. And floral face masks.

Okay, off to make edits on an article….

  1. Cutting out red meat, wine, bread and cheese?! As the saying goes, you may not live forever, but it will certainly seem like it.

    1. Yeah, I’m not so happy about it either. I’m weening myself off wine by drinking a Corona Light in the evening instead. Yuck

  2. The long-sleeved dress is not a sundress, fwiw.

I bought a cheap Old Navy sundress that finally came the other day, and I put it on for my first ever venture to a public enclosed place (i.e., wearing a mask) and my husband told me I looked gorgeous in it. 😀 Then again, that could be an effect of having seen me in nothing but sweatpants and ratty tank tops and the same hoodie for the past 2 months.

  3. I have oatmeal for breakfast six days a week. If you put fruit in it and drink coffee a pot of coffee, there’s no way it stays in your gut all morning.

    1. Agree. I make oatmeal in the microwave using water and protein powder mixed together, then I add whole oats and zap for 3 minutes. then I add half a banana and cinnamon. Yum.

  4. steel cut oats with 2 1/2 times their volume of milk done in the Instant Pot for forty minutes while you are doing some other part of your boot up routine. Needs to be done in an inner bowl or pot on some kind of a trivet, so no scorch. Yum

  5. I can’t get past the gluey consistency of oatmeal. I prefer yogurt in the mornings.

For some time, I would get annoyed that my kids are so sensitive to texture. Then I realized that I, too, am a texture-sensitive eater, it’s just that adults can choose what they eat.
