What’s Hot?

esq-sofia-xlg I can’t avoid this topic. It’s been all over the news this week. It’s dumb and fluffy, but it’s a Friday, so nothing tough here today.

Esquire declared that a woman can be hot and over 40. Whew. That’s a relief. It’s nice that a couple of guys say that I can get out of my mom jeans.

And ESPN magazine says that you can be chubby and hot.

Next week, I want an article on middle aged bloggers who are hot.

  1. I’m sure that there are more than a couple of guys who would love to get you out of your mom jeans! 🙂

As to chubby and hot, it helps to be a guy and to make $24 million a year. I say with some confidence that Prince Fielder need never lack for romantic companionship. A chubby working class woman will have more of a problem.

Not if she’s white and reasonably presentable. (There’s a really funny Chris Rock routine about fat white women and black guys–local observation suggest that the same is true with Hispanic guys.)

  2. I honestly think “hot” is something that can happen at any time and it has more to do with your attitude than anything else. I’m hotter now than I ever was in my twenties, thirties or even 40’s, because I have more confidence and men have responded to that. It’s easy to be hot no matter what your age if you are paid because of your appearance, as all of the actresses in the article. And yeah, who gives a shit about the middle aged guys who randomly decide who is hot and who isn’t.
