Things that caught my eye this morning:
Why it is hard to make friends over 30. Is this really a problem?
Executing kids in the Middle East is a special kind of evil.
Tech start ups are a special kind of gross.
Preppy is so back in style. Check out this guy who used Instagram to sell his anchor bracelets and preppy belts. Neat use of social media.
I’m always a sucker for the NYT Home and Garden slideshow.

I would not have said it was that difficult to make friends after 30. A lot of my friends are people I met when was I past 30–some through work, some through our children, some through recreational activities, some through church. Also some who were friends of my wife.
Further to that last point, from reading between the lines it appears that many of the people in the article are very alienated generally: divorced or never-married, childless, moved to a new town where they don’t attend church or belong to any clubs (sports, intellectual, etc.). Those things will make it difficult to find friends.
