I deeply adore the television show, “Shark Tank.” One guy came up with the great idea of packaging individual glasses of wine. They can be sold at theaters or sporting events. Imagine them thrown in a picnic basket or a beach bag. Love it!
The sharks passed (go to minute 6 of the video.). One of the sharks wanted to license the packaging idea to bigger wine distributors. The owner wanted to keep the concept for his brand of wine. They fought about money and all that. The guy has ended up doing very well, in part from just being on the show.

You can already buy little 4 packs of single serving bottles. I get them for picnics and open air concerts all the time. Why would they sell them at a theater instead of just pouring from the bottle as they already do? I’m sure the packaging is better and more appealing, but I don’t see it as revolutionary and am not surprised they passed.

I don’t see the point of this. If I want to take wine to a picnic or a theater, I just buy the boxed wine and take the bag out of the box.

I have seen these several times at liquor stores, but have not tried them, or considered them, really. This is partly for the reasons suggested by Tulip and MH, but also because I strongly suspect that the wine is no good. If I’m going to drink not very good wine (I try to avoid it, as should you!) and need it to not be in a bottle, then bag wine is probably better and certainly cheaper. Trader Joe’s sells it now, and while it’s not good, it is certainly cheap. But maybe I’m missing something. Why would this approach be better than the others suggested?
