We’re in the midst of a House of Cards marathon, so I’m a huge Robin Wright fan. She’s smart and gorgeous.

Cool simulations that help us understand autistic sensory overload.

  1. The plural of anecdote is not data, and the data don’t suggest that children raised by working class women without husbands do better than children raised by working class women with husbands.

Also, the plural of journalism is not knowledge.

    1. True that the the anecdote shouldn’t replace what we know of the data. But, the anecdote does illustrate an area for follow up research. In Lily’s anecdote, the comparison point is not that she would not be better off married to a supportive, employed man, but that the men she has available to her would not add to the well-being of her family (or so she thinks).

  2. The confessions of a teacher hater was weird. What did his mugging, and resulting PTSD (not that he uses the word, but that’s what it sounds like) have to do with anything? I mean, I sympathize, but I didn’t follow the connection.
