Spreadin' Love 578

I want to finish Average is Over this morning. Just wishing that someone did a better edit of this book. Sigh.

Some links, while I read:

MOOCs are attracting mostly young, educated men. Maybe not so democratic. Or maybe the best courses offered through these free online classes are computer programming classes and employers don’t care if people learned these skills from a tradtional college class or in their parents’ basement.

Andrew Sullivan has a long piece on the political dangers of income inequality.

Fascinating filibuster politics.

I really have to write about Arne Duncan’s white suburban moms comment.

Genetic research on a 24,000 year-old skeleton in Siberia.

Continuing buzz on Facebook about the Brooklyn Brownstone article.

Pregnant  in Auschwitz.

Do you mean there are a lot of typos, or that it’s long-winded and repetitive? That’s important to know for deciding what sort of book-related joke to make.

  3. The book rambles and rambles. OMG. There are some nuggets of goodness in the book, but it’s buried under all sorts of crap. Don’t buy it. I’ll tell you what the best ideas are next week.
