I’m still recovering from Jonah’s two hour graduation ceremony, which is about how long it takes to listen to three “follow your dreams” speeches and 300 names. So, just some links this afternoon.
I have to try putting meatballs in the oven, instead of frying them.
At Jonah’s graduation, every girl wore a cream lace or crochet dress. It’s a cute look!
How the Mad Men writers dealt with Vietnam.

*sigh* S’s is at 6 pm. Outdoors. WHY?
That dress looks like a nightie. I just got S this. She’s rejecting it, but she doesn’t have a lot of time because she decided last night she needed a dress, and she has a PT appointment this afternoon (torn/pulled hamstring) and we have to be at the school at 5:30 so we can bake nicely for a half hour before the ceremony.

OK. The keyword is “skater dress.” Check out the cute ones at Kohl’s. http://www.kohls.com/catalog/juniors-fit-and-flare-dresses-clothing.jsp?CN=4294719935+4294718132+4294719462+4294719810
90% of the girls at graduation were wearing one of those dresses. I think they’re cute.

Ooh, all cute.I’ll see if we can squeeze in a visit to Kohls. S is also not feeling well–bad allergies or a summer cold, not sure. She’s grumpy as hell.

We ended up going out again, but Kohls was rejected as well. We ended up with this.
I am LOL that you were looking at all the dresses because on the night of 8th grade semi-formal, I was screenshotting the pics my local FB friends were posting of their daughters and their dresses and sharing them with my sisters on our private FB group, and we were commenting on all the dresses. Good fun while I was waiting to go pick up my daughter.
I can’t believe I have a high-schooler now. Wow.

I read “just some drinks this afternoon.” Maybe that’s MH’s plan.

I’ve been working all day with only two drinks. Trying to leave town tomorrow.

It usually takes more than two drinks to inspire something that requires me to leave town the next day. I obviously have to raise my game.

Those are interesting statistics on college sex. It doesn’t sound too different from my own campus experience. (And maybe not too different from the days when Dorothy Parker said, “If all the girls at the Yale Prom were laid end to end, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised.”)
The statistics are interesting, but the author’s analysis suggests a complete incapacity for original, or even coherent, thought.
