Prison rape. Yuck. Make it stop.
I kinda like PBS-snobbery when it’s funny.
I like the idea of reducing meat-consumption, as long as it doesn’t mean too much pasta.
Amazing pictures of women who served as men in the Civil War.
Leave saving the world to the men? I don't think so.

Sending that Civil War article to my daughter. She dressed up as Sarah Edmonds for Famous American Day at school. We both learned so much about her.

I almost never eat pasta or meat, fwiw. Rice, tortillas, quinoa, bread, and of course eggs, vegies and beans. Sometimes I have chicken but that’s because fast-food or restaurant salads never have beans as an option.

One my female ancestors pretended to be a man so that she could serve alongside her husband and son in the Civil War. My aunt has a photo of the three of them together all dressed up in the same type of uniform. She looks pretty miserable in the photo but that didn’t stop me from being totally enamored with what she did when I was young.
