Spreadin’ Love 546

Busy working/writing morning, so some quick links right now. Maybe a post later.

Plastic surgery makes Korean beauty contestants interchangable.

They're making Candy Land characters sexy now.

Some day I want to write a book about the history of kitchens. Check out this one:

  1. I really like that kitchen’s look but I think they may be eating breakfast while looking at the condensing coils of the fridge.

  2. Although I am entirely sympathetic to the idea that better health, makeup, knowledge, hair color, and plastic surgery might create a convergence to one face, that article didn’t give me confidence of the hypothesis. Are those all the Korean contestants? ’cause they did not show all the VS “sexy” list, which includes a few non blondes (though the blondes certainly predominate).
The general evolutionary hypothesis is that once everyone looks alike, people have to start looking different to stand out. But, another possibility is that beauty will become like dog shows, where particular judged features are enhanced to the detriment of the health/common sense of observers.
