In a study for NBER, Edward N. Wolff found that median wealth plummeted over the years 2007 to 2010, and by 2010 was at its lowest level since 1969.

I would really love to see that graphed against residential real-estate valuations in inflation-adjusted dollars.

Right. It would also be interesting to see it broken down state-by-state, as there are huge disparities in how the housing bust has affected different parts of the country (for instance Florida).
It’s interesting that the dot com bust didn’t touch net wealth as much as you might expect.
