I would really love to see that graphed against residential real-estate valuations in inflation-adjusted dollars.

Right. It would also be interesting to see it broken down state-by-state, as there are huge disparities in how the housing bust has affected different parts of the country (for instance Florida).
It’s interesting that the dot com bust didn’t touch net wealth as much as you might expect.
