Tonight’s Debate

I'm getting remarkably little buzz about tonight's debate from Real World People. (RWP are different from Fictional People who live out there on the Internet.)

Are you people, both RWP and FP, going to watch the debate tonight?

UPDATE: If you're planning on watching, here are some tips. Come, join us on Twitter tonight.

  1. No chance. I’m pretty sure that I’ve got a good handle on the policies both candidates (and their parties) want to implement, and any revelations in the debate that would override that evaluation–say one candidate announcing their plans to drown the first-born of all green-eyed citizens–would be big enough to make the headlines tomorrow.
I also won’t be posting about the debates on social media. My family members, my professional peers, and my customers all are deeply partisan (usually on contrary sides), so no good can come of me announcing a position in public.

  2. I can’t believe I booked a flight during the debate. And no, I’m not going online during the flight. See you tomorrow.

  3. I can’t do it again. Watched the first two and my blood pressure was through the roof. Though I loved the communal social media experience, it’s too stressful, especially since nothing they say will change my vote. Also, I stayed out wayyyyyy too late last night seeing a loud, drunk, awesome band and should probably be asleep by now.

  4. I had dinner with some friends who don’t have a tv and purposely stayed until after it was over. I was too stressed out after the first two. Glad that Obama did well without my having to root for him.
