It's a slow news day. So, it's time for some girlie, home renovation pictures!
When we moved into this house a year ago, we didn't exactly decorate the house, as much as unpack. We're slowly getting around to it now. The boys were getting pissed off about their flowered wallpaper, so we called in some pros and repainted. I bought some white accessories and got rid of some crap. Call HGTV. I'm ready for you.
Here are the before and after pictures of Jonah's room.

House porn, house porn, house porn!!
More please!!

These are gorgeous. And I’ so jealous. What I wouldn’t give for built-in bookcases.

Lovely! Blue and White look so clean! I’m gobstruck by the emptiness of the shelves though! Where’s the boy clutter?! 🙂

Really, really lovely. I wonder how quickly your house might have sold, had the former owners invested in some paint?
You have a great aesthetic sense. If you need an idea for a sideline, how about advising homeowners on cosmetic changes which make the house easier to sell? Sort of, “extreme staging”?
You could use your library of “before and after” photos of your houses to create an idea book for customers.
You could even see if some local paint stores would work with you. It’s not necessary to arrange to have all the work done–just agree to create a list of what should be done, such as “strip these three rooms of the floral wallpaper, and repaint them teal, antique white, and dove gray.” With photoshop, you could work up example pictures of what the rooms would look like “after.”
You already possess most of the equipment and know-how you’d need for this.
Would you need a license in New Jersey to do such work?

Thanks, guys! Jonah chose this room with the built-ins over Ian’s room, which is bigger. He likes the built ins, too.
There isn’t any boy crap in these pictures, because I made a pact with the boys. They had to let me have one day to take pictures, before they nested and put crap on the walls.

Is the color actually named Blueberry? I ask because I was looking at a Benj Moore blueberry for my son’s room.

Yep, we used Benjamin Moore Blueberry. I think it was one of last year’s Pottery Barn colors. I showed the kids the colors and let them pick their favorites.
