The panelist — Call your representative's office and arrange for a constitutency meeting. They want to hear what you have to say. You may even be able to talk directly with the official.

When I used to teach Amer Gov 101, I make all my students call their representative and ask a staffer their position on three issues. The students were always initially freaked out by the experience, but after they did it, they were so empowered. Hopefully, it became a habit. I trained hundreds of cranks. Proud of that fact.

Panelist — All the brands and big shots are here today, because we're powerful. We should take that power to the political realm. When women get involved, it usually because of their kids. They say they wish they did that sooner. Because it is not that hard. We're part of the tax base, too. White guys can be really intimidating. Only way we can be part of the conversation is if we're in the room.
