Backup every story with statistics. Has to be new research. Show that a story is bigger than one person. A straight opinion isn't that interesting. It can turn into a rant.

example. A parelist wanted to write a personal story about getting divorce and becoming a single parent. Paired it with the stats of single parenthood.
