Spreadin’ Love 496

My CSA shares are here!! This week has been all about green garlic and kale.

I love this story about a pottery company in OH, which is making the mugs for Starbucks.

I am forcing myself to write about school vouchers today. I wrote a dissertation on school vouchers ten years ago and I am still so sick of the topic.

There has been explosive growth in the Hasidic community in New York City. And around New York. A few weeks ago, I made the mistake of driving through Monsey, NY on a Saturday.

  1. I was at a birthday party this spring where the hostess brought out a big dish of kale chips for the grownups. They, too, had been abundantly blessed with CSA kale and had no idea what to do with it all until they came upon the kale chip recipe. The chips are prepared with oil and salt and baked. They taste a lot like seaweed. I’m not sure it’s worth the effort, though.
