Steve saw my reference to Little Green Footballs yesterday, and told me that I was behind the times. LGF has rejected its neo-con roots. Johnson writes, "The American right wing has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff. I won’t be going over the cliff with them." Here are all the reasons why he says that the Right has gone off the rails.

I was wondering about that, too. CJ is very gung-ho for climate change.

An interesting bit of LGF culture that I’ve heard of (but never experienced myself) is that when you get banned at LGF (which is apparently pretty easy), they will not infrequently cut off your access to even viewing the blog. I find that kind of weird–I’ve never heard of any other major blogger doing that.

How is cutting off viewing access to a blog even possible? You don’t have to log in to LGF to view it, and most individuals in this world change their IP address every time they reboot their machine or disconnect from their network connection.

I don’t know. Maybe not everybody knows that?
There are already several CJ Downfall parodies. This one deals with the bannings:
It’s pretty long, and if you’ve seen one Downfall parody, you’ve seen ’em all.
Elsewhere on the internet, there’s some history and a chart of the downward trend of LGF traffic here:

Someone has taken upon themselves to maintain a “Book of the Banned.” Allegedly, in September 2009 alone, 500 posters have been banned from LGF, including iowahawk and baldilocks.

The last two blogs aren’t ones that I have seen before, so I don’t vouch for them, but there does seem to be a pattern.

But, what rail was the right on that he felt OK traveling along until they went off the rails? What was the “Good” right that LGF kept company with before they went off the rails?

Though this one about Hillary is pretty darn good, especially for how well the subtitles fit with the original German. http://www.unfogged.com/archives/week_2008_05_04.html#008684 (Bonus points for coordinating Stalin and Spitzer.)
(Got to see Ganz do excerpts from Faust one time. Wowsers.)
