I too was amazed at the audiotapes of the Hudson thing — not just the crew on the plane, and the pilot, who were clearly amazing, but all the other players, too. The air traffic controllers, the helicopter pilots, who were following the scene on a different frequency, the guy who calls in requesting helicopters because a “Airbus just went down in the Hudson.” The ferry captain who saw it happen and got his boat moving out there. Every one of those people contributed to all those passengers making it through.
Honestly, listening to the tape made me remember how human, humans are. All those people cared. They cared about strangers.
