Spreadin’ Love

Rehab in Yiddish (via John Podhoretz).

Interesting data on the state of the blogosphere.

I’ve worked (very indirectly) with ACORN people before and, like Elizabeth, I’m a bit heart sick about how their years of good work has been undermined by allegations of voter fraud.

Who’s loving the Madonna-Richie divorce?

Why the teachers’ unions are backing Obama in this race, even though he’s a strong supporter of charter schools.

I will always have a love/hate relationship with Obama’s neighborhood — Hyde Park, IL. I lived there for two years while getting my masters at the Univ. of Chicago, which was quite long enough for me. My dad graduated from Univ. of Chicago and grew up a few blocks south. My uncle was chief of campus police. My cousin still fixes typewriters or some nonsense on campus, and spends most of his free time xeroxing pictures from old magazines in the Regenstein library. 1. I don’t know a thing about Hyde Park, but the description I’ve seen around the internet (“Hyde Park: black and white united against the poor”) is very funny.

  2. Much better than the Madonna story (a quarter century of my not caring about Madonna is not about to change now) were the headlines in the box on the page: “Duchovny’s coach hints at affair” and “You’re not Gordon f*% Ramsay”
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can separate the actor from the role, but my first thought was still “Mulder? Sex addict? No way. That’s too weird even for X-Files.”
And the second is just priceless.
