Spreadin’ Love

Robert Rummel-Hudson writes about relocating to get the best services for his special needs kid.

Sarah compares the leaves from the same locations in Central Park in 2006 and 2007. Can you say global warming? (Browse around this new blog. Nice work, Sarah.)

Lisa Belkin writes about a new Catalyst study that found that women leaders can’t win. "It found that women who act in ways that are consistent with gender
stereotypes — defined as focusing “on work relationships” and
expressing “concern for other people’s perspectives” — are considered
less competent. But if they act in ways that are seen as more “male” —
like “act assertively, focus on work task, display ambition” — they are
seen as “too tough” and “unfeminine.”"  Dowd reports that smart chicks don’t get dates.

  1. I thought I commented earlier to thank you for the Robert Rummel-Hudson link. Very interesting.
I’ve known so many families of autistic kids to move for services, but never seen anything written about it. I suppose it happens less now that services are more widely available, but still.
