I missed the Republican debate last night, but caught the recap this morning on the morning shows. Rudy’s pro-life stance and 9/11 sainthood dominated the commentary. Rudy definitely won the lion share of attention.
Still, I don’t think Rudy will make it through the summer. He’s going to say something really stupid or defensive. Someone is going to push him a bit too far, and Rudy is gonna bite. I’m really looking forward to that scene.

Probably the pithiest and most succinct version of this basic point which anyone who has watched her operate in the public eye can sense before too long. The woman emits harpy vibes like bees secrete wax. And they can be dampened (but never completely subsumed) to tolerable levels only through great personal discipline, which she apparently has, but which seems to require limited exposure so as to recuperate from the fatigue of pretense.
The only real question as I see it is whether her eventual downfall comes in one spectacular moment (e.g., the maid scenario) or as a slow, drawn out bleed of accumulated tics and minor gaffes that gradually turn the public off to her.”
So, are you right? Is Mr Mustard? Both Giuliani and Clinton seem to be managing an amazingly long string of no-error events.
