Loved this post by Dan (and so did my readers who sent me links to it). Dan writes, “At this point in the 21st century, having small children is kind of like belonging to a different religious persuasion that others view as bizarre and discomfiting. It’s nice to be with one’s own kind during these years.”

Enjoying the commentary about the Chait piece. Peter Beinart and Jonah Goldberg and, later, John Podhoretz debate whether the conservative movement is really like the Netroots.

  1. That is a good Drezner post and thread. What on earth is Gaithersburg, MD doing on a family-friendly list? I haven’t had a lot to do with the town lately, but most of it is just beyond the final Red Line metro station, and it may be developing a reputation for crime.
