Wow. Allen is now trailing Webb.

Looks like the Democrats have the House sewed up and the Senate is looking a lot closer than it did an hour ago.

Britney has filed for divorce. Bye-bye Kevin.

Reality Check. My old Representative, Charlie Rangel, will now have chairmanship over the Ways and Means committee.

Who else is worried about that skinny Nicole Richie? (OK, I strayed over to the E! channel for a little while.)

It’s almost 1:00 and they still don’t know who’s going to control the Senate. There’s going to be recounts and it might be days before they know. I’m going to bed, because there’s nothing new on CNN, and I might get sucked into watching that show about Hef’s slutty girlfriends. Do Hef’s girlfriends get to date other guys?

  1. I am so frustrated that I can’t be at school this morning. My hw for my classes was to track their local and state races. We would have been still swept up in the energy, talking about Pelosi as SOH and the first muslim in congress… just having a great discussion about changing times and how checks and balances are going to sweep Bush’s legs from beneath him…(as much as moderates can do that…). But I was terribly ill early this morning and I’m home recovering. How frustrating!!! I feel like a man whose sugar mamma wife just scooped up our two boys and walked off with her $30 million! Wait, no, not *that* bad.

  3. Britney filed for divorce?! See, this is the problem with having CNN on all morning. Glad I came here to get ALL the news…
    So, I guess “kick the bums out” prevailed in politics AND in entertainment. Good.

  4. No, they don’t get to date other guys. At least, there was a magazine article coupla years ago which said they didn’t get to. And they have a curfew, which is relatively early. All in all, a very odd life, both for them and for Hefner. Mostly an advertisement for the magazine.
    The whole enterprise has fallen on hard times, with free porn only a few clicks away for anyone who wants it, and in addition their core market (which I think is basically assistant pharmacy managers at chain grocery stores etc) used to buy the magazine at 7-11 and the fundies got 7-11 to stop carrying it so that’s gone.
