Harry at Crooked Timber has a highly favorable review of a book, Why Love Matters, by Sue Gerhardt. Gerhardt is a harsh critic of bad daycare believing that the lack of one-on-one attention to a baby’s needs will have long term emotional scars. She also writes that it is possible to be a feminist and aim to level up work of caring for and rearing children rather than leveling it down.
