On Sunday, I’ll start the booze flowing at around 6:00, watch the Oscars, and LIVE BLOG. Steve hates the pomposity and self importance of Hollywood. I’ve tried to explain to him that laughing at it all is excellent sport, but he’ll have no part of it. Instead, he’ll shout profanities at the TV and then retire to the office to play video games.
Question of the Day: Will you watch the Oscars?

I live blogged them last year, and will again this year. It’s like a telecast of a prom. Really hard to resist.

I’m watching just so I can see Jon Stewart. Sadly, I think I’ve only seen one or two of the films up for an award.

Oh, yes. Well, I’m going to an Oscars party, which helps. But mostly I have to watch to see all the outfits – I love making fun of fashion monstrosities.

I will half-assedly watch it. I’ll be either painting or sewing something while it’s on, but I plan to TiVo the whole thing and start watching a bit late so I can fast forward through the horrible bits.
I really prefer the Golden Globes to the Oscars.

Not me — I think I’ll probably read or sleep or otherwise get into Spring Break. Of course, it could just be a Y-chromosome thing on my part.

Of course. Always. On the phone with my sister. But now, even better, with my nine-year-old co-conspirator by my side.

Nah. I feel so far removed from Hollywood these days. I don’t know the actors, I’ve seen few of the films …Hwood’s just not relevant to my life right now.
I chalk it up (correctly or incorrectly) to the pre-school days, when the kids are little and needy and I have little time for movies.
