Spreadin’ Love

Back from a shopping excursion. As I rest the credit card for awhile, I am surfing around the blogroll and learning lots of fascinating tidbits.

Do you give people what they want? Flea tells me that people just want to buy cheap fibrators. Her description of how she had to draw the line as a business owner was really interesting.

What is good support worth to you? Apparently quite a lot to Bitch, PhD. My little slingshots from the GAP aren’t quite up to the task. Perhaps I’m going to get myself something frilly for Christmas.

Why is the death penalty a weird thing? The death penalty isn’t my topic, so I’ve been looking around for a good post to link to. Here’s a short, but good one from Chris Bertram.

How to avoid the allure of tokenism? Amanda says by bringing a woman up the ranks, like Tina Fey. Amanda also points toKatha Pollitt who says that women are tokens on the op-ed pages, because newspapers only have room for one conservative woman and have no need for any others. Personally, I would like to see more women writers who didn’t specialize in women’s issues.
