Short Post. Long Day.

By all rights, I should not be at the computer right now. It’s late, and it was a long day. But, you know, it’s my two year anniversary with blogging. One year at Apt. 11D and then one year here. And despite some fears that these dashed off words will be greeted with scorn by future employers and fears that daily posting takes time away from polishing something more worth while, I’m going to keep at it. It’s great fun.

I’m busy catching up on this whole Valerie Plame thing. Truthfully, I found the whole thing a big snore until Rove was outed. But if it ends up kicking the boy genius in the ass, then I’m paying attention.

I guess we’re not the only family who relies on a great deal of help from their parents.

The LA Times reports that autism cases have leveled off in CA, which may be linked to the removal of mercury from infants’ vaccines. However, we’re still doomed, because unborn U.S. babies are soaking in a stew of chemicals.

The first unfunny story I read at McSweeney’s. Why not funny. Because it’s about adjuncting.

Well, that was a LAME post. Especially considering it was my two year anniversary which could have been a great opportunity to extol the virtues of this new medium….
Blogging IS a townhall meeting!

I could have cited my statistics….
5,000 visitors in one day, because they google searched Terry Schiavo without the “c”.

And provided quotes from fans….
“Laura, thanks so much for writing your blog. You help me waste time. I would so much rather read your blog than grade papers. If given a choice of reading your blog or grading a hundred essays on how a bill becomes a law, I pick your blog every time. Thanks!”

Ah, not my style. A proper post tomorrow.
