I'm a huge Wes Anderson geek. Actually, so is my whole family. People actually have opinions about the merits of Royal Tanenbaums v. Rushmore. Yes, we're a pretentious lot.
I played hookie from life this morning and went to the local mall-movie theater multiplex to see Moonrise Kingdom with my sister in law. Both of us felt vaguely guilty seeing a movie at 10:15. We suspiciously checked out the loners in the theater.
Moonrise Kingdom is a tribute to Wednesday Addams and Boy Scout Memoriabilia. Which is great, because I love both things.
Oh, look! The movie has a fun website. This interview with Bill Murray is quite good. Apparently, Murray crashes parties of 20-something girls in Brooklyn and does other rather odd things in real life. And here's an anatomy of a scene, which appeared in the New York Times.
Steve and I have a fair bit of Boy Scout Memoriabilia. Here's a framed collage of Steve's patches. His mother made this. Love the red thread on the yellow felt background.
And a few of the old Boy Scout books.
