People are questioning the benefits of community college lately.

• One study found that, “Students are much less likely to earn a four-year degree if they first enroll at a community college. A key reason, according to a newly released study, is lost credits in the transfer process.”
• Michael Petrilli writes that the reality is that most low income or high risk students will never graduate from college. So, let’s  provide them with high quality technical education, instead. 
• I read a great personal essay from a community college professor a couple of weeks ago, who tried to make peace with the fact that most of her students will fail. Can’t find the link. Arg!
