Midweek Journal

I'm staring at two word documents and hating life. Two rough drafts. Zero completion. I need to finish off everything in the next week, when camp and solitary hours in front of the computer end.

Upstairs, the painters are working on boys' bedrooms, a hallway, and a bathroom. I let the boys pick the colors. Did they pick nice pale neutrals? No, they did not. Jonah chose this color. Ian went with whorehouse red. I'm heading to Target right now for an oatmeal rug, a white lamp, a white board, white pillow cases. The furniture is going to get a coat of Decorator White. Ian is, of course, completely thrilled. I think he likes the coccoon-ish feel of the room.

Jonah is still away for the week. This is the second week that we've lost him this summer. I will not let him go anywhere ever again. I may not let him go to college.
