Last Sunday, we took the boys to the Met and stumbled onto an amazing exhibit by Thomas Hart Benton. I’m a huge sucker for Benton and all the WPA artists. The Smithsonian has a great article about these murals.
Then we roamed around the New American Wing, where I geeked out on this color combination.
When the savages began to sigh heavily, it was time to go home.

I love the color of that sofa. I painted my family room walls that color. It is actually a very popular wall color on tv and in movies. Once I decided to use it I suddenly noticed it over and over in shows.

Very good looking savages, those two. I keep hoping that someday my own savages will appreciate art museums more. Sigh… When they were younger they enjoyed it more, but we don’t go frequently enough to for them to really get used to it. We have to change that!! 🙂
