As new evidence proves that two innocent men were sent to prison for thirty years, the District Attorney that puts them away reacts. Does District Attorney Joe Freeman Britt feel remorse? Apparently not.
He said this the current DA — “Well, let’s say, if I was a bully, he is a pussy. How about that?” the elder Mr. Britt said. “I think Johnson Britt has been hanging around too much with the wine and cheese crowd.”
He don’t think that the DNA evidence was terribly important or that the mental incompetance of the men meant that they really had no idea what they were saying.
Nor is he swayed by the argument that the defendants — with I.Q.’s in the 60s and 50s — were too impaired to appreciate the confessions written by investigators that they signed.
“When we tried those cases, every time they would bring in shrinks to talk about how retarded they were,” he said. “It went on and on and on, blah-blah-blah.”

Christ, what an asshole.
