Obama is taking some bipartisan heat on Twitter right now for taking a vacation this week. Golf. Riots in St. Louis. Golf. ISIS decapitates a guy. Not good optics.

He’s clearly tired of the job, and waiting for it to be over. Bush was tired of it towards the end, too, but at least he kept working at it. Clinton loved every day.
I think wistful thoughts about a parliamentary mechanism by which someone who is clearly phoning it in (or, like Wilson and maybe late Reagan, no longer up for it) can be bounced.

At what point will you start noticing that Obama is phoning it in?
If even the NYT notices it, it’s gotten really obvious.

If we’re going to bring back the formula, let’s at least do it right. “Even the liberal New York Times….”
