Jonah and Frank

We took the kids to the Metropolitan Museum yesterday and had a perfect afternoon.

On the way to the museum, we checked out the big crane for the new subway line and talked about the challenges of building a subway in present day Manhattan. Steve gave a mini-lecture about Vanderbilt and the train line that runs under Park Avenue. We ate food from a cart in front of the museum.

Inside, both kids were fully engaged. They knew where they were going and what they wanted to see. First time. Ian insisted that we go to  the armor room. He made Steve pretend that he was running away from a Samurai figure and snapped a picture. Jonah had many, many opinions about Frank Lloyd Wright. A woman eavesdropped and told Jonah to google “Gaudi.” He nodded.
