538, Foxes, and Color Coded Bookshelves

The new FiveThirtyEight is here. I appreciate Nate’s last line of his manifest, “It’s time for us to start making the news a little nerdier.” I wish that someone had edited out the youthful hubris (is there an app for that?) from that article. I did like his color coded bookshelves, even if I stopped reading his manifesto by that point.

UPDATE:  Tyler Cowen and Paul Krugman are not impressed either.

  1. Maybe the rest of the content only has to be good enough to keep the lights on between elections. I’ll probably start reading again when we get close to the next one. That’s what I did with the old 538.
