  1. I sent you that email just before I drove to work, so I was thinking about it and Jimmy Fallon while driving. I think Fallon is doing great work in late night tv. He has become a key “influencer” among a certain demographic. He’s what Letterman used to be, especially in comparison to Leno.

    That said, is it just me, or does he have dead eyes? Another comedian I think has dead eyes is Steve Carell. I feel like their eyes just don’t let me see them, whereas with Steven Colbert and Jon Stewart, I can see the real-ish person there. Robin Williams’ antic behavior distracts you from the pain in his eyes. Johnny Carson seemed to have a real person behind the eyes. Louis CK has real eyes. I love Tina and Amy, but they have slight dead-eyeness.

    Is it just me who notices these things? And it’s not about whether I like the actor in general. I love Steve Carell. It’s just that his dead eyes freak me out.
