We’re having a really nice summer so far. Lots of adventures. I have a sunburn on my nose. My muscles ache from all the activity.
This morning, I’m creating a social story about our upcoming trip to Maine for Ian. Ian likes knowing “the order of things” as he calls it. So, I’m making him a day by day report with lots of pictures and maps of all the places that we’ll go next week. He’s a visual learner, so he really loves it when I hand him a written report rather than wearing him down with too many words. Our trip to Maine is the big adventure for the summer, but we’ve already had dozens of little adventures this July.
Here’s a sample:

What/where is that white modern tiled building? I’m fascinated by modern architecture and we have TONS of it in Brazil, but here in the U.S. it’s not as prevalent.

I’ve been exhausted by the adventures of: moving into a new house; setting up tenants in the old house; dealing with BOTH cars breaking down; buying a brand new car, which goes against everything I believe in, but we did it anyway; and getting the kids to their various camps (never again will I drive to the computer camp 30 minutes away 5 days a week).
We leave for a Niagara Falls/upstate NY driving trip in a couple of weeks. I plan to do some genealogy stuff while I’m there, too. Got a branch from south of Rahchacha.

We’re in Maine next week, too. But, we’ve made no plans except where we plan to sleep.
