Ian Wants To Know

Ian wants to know if you were tiny enough to swim in a bowl of cereal, what kind of cereal would it be? We all agreed that a cylindrical cereal would be best, though there was some debate about the particular kind of cylindrical cereal. I think he settled on Cinnamon Cheerios.

  1. Ian, I think I might choose Quaker Oat Squares, so that I could sit atop them like a raft, should I need a break from swimming. 🙂

  2. I was going to go with some sort of Frosted Flake-type cereal for the rafting reason. Definitely not Raisin Bran. The Raisins would look … weird all plumped up in the water.

  3. I would swim in plain cheerios. The Cheerios would be like inner tubes, for riding the waves.
Rice Krispies would be bad, like swimming in a non-newtonian fluid or quicksand, which I suspect would not be fun.

  4. Lucky Charms. There are marshmallow pillows to use as floats; there’s a variety of colors and shapes. It would be like a water amusement park.

Not to mention the noise. And definitely no oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, or other hot cereal.
I think I’d like Apple Jacks or Honey Nut Cheerios.

  6. Cheerios wins for me. Fun to swim through/around and also innertube-like when you need a rest and just want to float and stare up at the spoon that could lift you out at any point (think “the claw” in Toy Story).

  7. Did you guys know that there’s now a Churros breakfast cereal?

Our Texas HEBs also manufacture a cereal version of their “Wild Red” soda, which is their knock-off of “Big Red” soda. Here is photographic evidence:

I’m assuming that Wild Red cereal was the result of either a dare or a practical joke gone too far or evidence of at-work drug use.
