I'm not the best baker, but I like the idea of Christmas cookies. OK, I also like eating them for breakfast.
Steve cut up his raspberrry bars before going to work this morning. There are millions of oats all over the counter and the floor right now. I need a dog.
Goodies for the boxes. Is that a glittery pickle ornament, you ask. Why, yes, it is.
Yesterday was crunch day to assemble the boxes of goodies to send to the Aunties and Uncles. On my way to the post office…

I adore Christmas ornaments.

Mmm, cookies for breakfast. That is only allowed on Christmas Day, in our house.

This was on Instapundit, so people have probably already seen it, but it’s very on topic.
http://www.wired.com/design/2012/12/3-d-printing-cookie-cutters/
The headline is: “Maker Mom Builds Cookie-Cutter Empire With 3D Printers.”
“The video game designer has worked on PlayStation games like Resistance Retribution and Uncharted Golden Abyss. She’s also a self-described “jack-of-all-trades,” skilled with 3-D modeling tools like Maya, and knows how to design compelling characters with them.
“After having two children she decided to work from home, and in addition to keeping active in the computer graphics industry, she also created a wildly successful Etsy shop, where she sells 3-D printed cookie cutters based on nerd culture favorites Pokemon, Dr. Who and Super Mario Brothers.”
Doesn’t a Pikachu cookie sound adorable?
That gets around the Etsy problem that bj has mentioned where you can’t sell the same thing more than once. She does have to pay for rights, though.
We had a family with 4 kids over to make gingerbread cookies on Thursday. Next up–apple dumpling-making with another family. I bought an extra pastry mat and rolling pin to make it easier and faster to increase production.

I got a BioLite stove for Christmas and fired it up tonight. It was a bit hard to find fuel in a snow-covered yard, but I got it going well enough. I didn’t try to charge my phone, mostly because it was also hard to find a dry place to set the phone. If I’d wanted to cook anything, I would have needed to get out a hatchet or something. Pieces of wood you can break by hand really burn quickly.

I did it the other way, when my kids were young, I wrapped their presents. Now I’ll just leave them unwrapped – partially due to being more environmental conscious and cost reduction.
