During the last president debate, Ann Coulter tweeted, "I highly approve of Romney's decision to be kind and gentle to the retard."
Because I follow quite a number of people in the autism politics world, backlash to this comment showed up in my Twitterfeed almost immediately. I didn't weigh in, because responding to Coulter's stupidity could be a full time job.
But this story is picking up steam, so here's a few links:
Here's a response from a man with Downs' Syndrome.

I feel like sometimes half of the posts by my Republican “friends” on Facebook are asking, “Why aren’t liberals denouncing the viewpoint of their leading figure X for his offensive comment Y?” where X is some guy I’ve never heard of who I have to Google to find out who unartfully said something or other.
And yet Ann Coulter still gets invited to all sorts of major Republican and Conservative events and writes bestselling books that Republicans buy.
I haven’t paid attention to Ann Coulter in years, but I know she is still out there, and she is still my stock response to “Why aren’t liberals denouncing Joe Shmoe?”

I can remember somebody once referring to Coulter as an “horse-faced Tri-Delt.” Still seems accurate, apparently.
