A couple of days before we went to Puerto Rico, we had a Valentine's Day party for Ian. We invited the kids in his class, their entire families, and all the staff in the room. We had a house full of autistic kids for a couple of hours one Friday night. And it was marvelous.
The kids who were obsessed with video games were upstairs playing Kirby on the Wii. The kids who were obsessed with trains were in Ian's room putting together his Lionel set. And the kids who were obsessed with drawing were at a craft station in the office.
The mid-century layout of this house is fabulous for parties. Which reminds me. I have to make a shopping list for Saturday's BBQ in March party.
