Leave saving the world to the men? I don't think so.

The only comment I have is that except for the NYTimes Book Review, its been a while since I read a book because it was reviewed in the New Yorker and I don’t read The Atlantic regularly or the rest. I am online all the time and I find out what to read from online magazines like Slate (which seems to have plenty of women writers) and blogs (like Bookslut or stuff like that) and twitter (recs from friends or people I follow on there). I wonder if this has an impact. That said, the numbers are appalling!

I think my B&N Nook is in the process of changing my reading habits completely.
I am in the process of moving as many of my subscriptions as possible (including the New Yorker) onto the Nook. Now, when I read a book review that is interesting, I immediately go to the B&N Nook Store, download the “Free Sample” chapter and put it on my “To Read” shelf. I’ve got maybe 30 or 35 books on it now. Then, when I need a new book, I’ve got a whole shelf of books that had book reviews that made me want to buy them, and I can buy that one that I’m in the mood for.
No more “Wow, that looks interesting!” and then forgetting about it five minutes later.
