Florida

I'm frantically doing some last minute packing and trying to hold back the irrational panic that always precedes air travel. Do I have everything? What if I end up on a flight going to Denver? What if I forget my ticket? Did I remember to pack underwear? What if I get stuck in traffic and miss the flight? Oh, I wish that Steve and the boys were going with me.

I'm going to Florida for the weekend. My cousin asked me to be the godmother to his new baby, Alexander. So, I'm going to down for the baptism. I've only seen the baby once over Christmas holidays, but I already love him to death. He's part of my extended blended family. One quarter Italian, one quarter Indian, and half Puerto Rican. He and his sister are such a gorgeous blend of DNA. I can't wait to see them tonight.

I also am looking forward to seeing that all my cousins and Aunt and Uncle who relocated to Florida for the cheap real estate, the water, and the business opportunities. Florida seems to be picking up again after a decade of woes. I plan on taking lots of pictures of the big homes and the blue swimming pools. And my beautiful blended babies.

(I'll try for another post later this afternoon.)

  1. Wow. Your godson is about as close as I’ve come to finding an ethnic match to myself.
I’m half Indian, one-quarter Puerto Rican, and one-quarter Austrian.
    Have a great time!

  2. Regarding packing. Small suitcase. That’s the only answer. Otherwise, the number of shoes you take will increase to fit the space you have. In fact, if you actually managed to leave NJ with less than that number, new ones might be acquired in FL that filled in the space.
Extra packing space is dangerous in every way.

You can appreciate the swastika on more levels than most.
