It wasn't easy to get everyone out of bed this morning. It took a lot of shaking and loud singing to stir the boys from bed. Steve grumbled and groaned. Now that the house is empty, I have to translate little scraps of papers with notes into a list of chores and a plan for the day. But, first, a short blog post.
Question of the Day: How was your break? Are you glad to return to work or are you hating life at the moment?

I somehow managed to buy cheap-ass hose that not only got a hole in the toe but then that hole expanded over half my foot. And this all happened at 7 am, 10 minutes before I had to go teach.
So my return to work has been off to an annoying start. 😦

My gym is at my work, and I’m glad to go back to the gym, so in that sense I’m glad to go back to work. I’m not looking forward to grading the papers I’ve been avoiding over the last week, though.

Seeing as how I spent a big chunk of my break at the office, working on some writing projects, I feel neither happy nor hateful right now. Just more of the same. Check to see how I’m feeling in a day or so though, when the writing projects (which I’m actually being paid for) are done, and I have to start designing my syllabi once more…

The kids were just too stir-crazy by the end of break; after X number of days playing Wii and bribing the kids with movies and leftover treats, we were both very ready to send them back to school today.
My husband and I were less thrilled to head out bright and early this morning, but once I got to my office … my quiet, calm, clean office where they make coffee for me and do not interrupt me in the bathroom … I was very happy to be here.

I’ve faced nearly three weeks of no cafeteria, no walk-to college Starbucks, and no gym, so I have a lot to look forward to as the school year begins.

I’m so thrilled to have dropped Yo off this morning–get him back to his routine and out of our boring, unstimulating house. And for me to have some adult responsibilities–at least for the next week or so, it sounds great.

I didn’t get a break, just two long weekends, but I also don’t have to deal with minor children on school breaks. I am fine being at work, where I have a pleasant job and appreciative bosses. The only reason I wish I were home is pain from my NYE tattoo, which is easier to deal with when I’m not wearing work-appropriate clothes.

Defintely dragging a bit this morning. I’m faced with many responsibilities, not the least of which is figuring out what I’ll be teaching in just a few short weeks. The kids weren’t too bad, though Geeky Boy admitted he tossed and turned and then checked Facebook at 2 a.m. His internal clock is way off.
This is my first break of the day–besides lunch where I basically shove down food in 15 minutes. I’m missing my couch/bed already.

A week of my break got sucked by the all-family stomach flu, so I’m feeling a little bitter, to be honest. I really needed that week!
