Steve netflixed a bunch of old episodes of Pee-Wee's Playhouse and has been watching them with the boys. I was a bit annoyed, because my kids don't need to be spouting twenty-year old jokes. They're different enough already; the cool football kids will trash Jonah if says "I know you are, but what am I? Heh!"
Well, Mecca-Lecca-High-Mecca-Highdi-Ho is a regular part of dinner conversation now. It's pretty harmless stuff, though I remember the outrage when it first came out. Parents were worried about its impact on the youth. Now I have to deal with Jonah playing Halo at his buddy's house, so I'll take a little Pee-Wee in our lives.

My little boy loves the Faerie Tale Theatre version of Pinocchio starring Paul Reubens — who is pretty much acting as Pee-wee as Pinocchio in the episode.

IF they haven’t seen it, you should definitely have your kids watch Pee-Wee’s big adventure. It’s a great movie on its own, but even better when you know that it’s basically a re-make of The Bicycle Thief. (I realized this only after watching them fairly close together.) You can safely skip Big-Top Pee-Wee, though.
