Do not invite me to a tele-conference on a important topic, when the conference is a thinly veiled attempt to get me to promote someone's book on my blog. I will never, ever mention that book on this blog or Twitter. And do a little research on blogging before you make claims that there are no bloggers discussing a particular important topic.
The only way I'll discuss a book on this blog is if the book is really good or the book is mistaken, but interesting. The book in question does not fall into either of those two categories.

Needless to say, now we’re all dying to know what the book is. I wonder how you can tell in a way that continues to make your point….

I think you should promote my book on your blog. I’ll have the editors call you and say “no one blogs about ethnic separatism in Russia and Georgia” and you can actually say “well, yes, that is correct.”

“Otto’s Random Thoughts” is at least close to the subject, I think: http://jpohl.blogspot.com/
And also a glimpse into a hugely interesting part of the world and academic life.
