Question of the Day – Team Kate or Team Jon?

I'm starting to return to normal. One of the crappy things about being on the bad side of 40 is that drinking booze when you're sick actually makes you sicker. I know. Crazy. In the past, when I had a sore throat, drinking tequila was nothing. It burned away the germs. At least that's what they told me. Now, it nearly put me in the hospital.

So, I spent most of the past two days eating Wendy's in front of the TV pretending that I was an unemployed loser. Oh, wait. Anyway. I was able to catch up with Keeping Up with Kardashians and Jon and Kate Plus 8.

The only reason to watch Jon and Kate is to witness their marriage unravel on TV. Very entertaining. Even the New York Times is watching. The joke at SNL last week was: Two new shows coming up. Jon Plus 4 and Kate Plus 4.

Question of the Day: Team Jon or Team Kate?

  1. Hope you feel better. But, ick, Team Jon or Kate? I guess I know who they are, but I’d basically rather pluck out my eyeballs than watch.
You know you can watch all kinds of cool stuff on Hulu. It’s fun to compare brady bunch & partridge family, for example.
    And, this article: http://www.latimes.com/features/health/la-he-bitterness25-2009may25,0,4544029.story
Only in LA would they try to define being bitter as a mental illness, but, still, interesting.
And, I’m spinning over the news that Ted Olson & David Boies have teamed up together to challenge Prop 8 in CA in federal court.

  2. Team Kate just because I’m getting really tired of how the media’s jumping on the “she’s a domineering bitch who drove him to it” bandwagon.

  3. I had a very bad cold that hit me hard over last week. It probably kept me from enjoying Thomas as much as I should have. But, Saturday night, I played cards and drank beer. Woke-up feeling much better on Sunday and I only lost $10. It probably wasn’t the beer, but relative rest that made me feel better.

  4. I’d say Team Kate, because, like Janice, I’m sick of hearing her demonized as a controlling harpy. Cue the misogyny, indeed.
Besides, *if* it’s true that Jon has gone out to college parties (!!!) and club-hopping (!!!), he deserves to be pointed and laughed at. Like ducks, thirtysomething and older men who try to be hipsters are inherently funny.

  5. Team Kate for the same reasons, but for various parents-of-multiples reasons, I’ve tried to avoid their whole deal for years.

  6. Team Kate, we all do not know the “real story”. I see is a strong woman taking the reins because her Husband “is 32 and needs to find himmself”. Give me a break!! He will be living in New York, not near the kids. He is a baby and needs to grow up, so amking excuses for him is quite literally disgusting. He is just as much responsible for his actions, they have pictures of him cheating, not her. I’ve see that he always acted like he didn’t know what he should do. And then yes she would tell him what to do. If you can’t be the Man of the house that is his fault, he’s a cheating jerk who doesn’t deserve this pity everyone is giving him, it makes me sick. Before we all judge her, walk a mile in her shoes!!

  7. I just bought the first season and the fifth season and watched in order to compare and decide which team I’m on.
The first season Kate seemed pretty high strung. She just seemed so scared all the time with her voice shaking. That’s because she was a control freak who couldn’t control EVERYTHING. I was all set to think she pushed Jon away, but then I watched the fifth season….
Kate has mellowed out SOOOOOO much! She rolls with the punches and makes the best of things. And she is 100% devoted to the kids. She is so much more patient and has fun with the kids now… Jon acts just like a frat boy! What a spoiled ridiculous egomaniacal immature self-indulgent jerk!
    Team Kate!
